Who is Linsey Griffith?
As a small business owner and women and infant healthcare advocate, I have served over a thousand families in Central Ohio. I wish to use that passion and problem-solving to serve our community.
As a Ronald Reagan Leadership Fellow at Eureka College, I learned about politics from world leaders. I interned in Economic Development and helped to launch the Ronald Reagan Trail Association. I interned at Anti-Slavery International and then served with National Children’s Homes in the UK serving Afghan refugees after 9/11. As an AmeriCorps member, I worked on the Yakama Indian Reservation serving indigenous peoples and migrant workers’ families. I have written MORPC and private grants and launched farmers’ markets and community programming to support the communities where I have lived. I currently serve on two executive professional boards and the board of a local arts organization. My family has lived in Delaware for 6 years and recently bought our forever home in the 1st Ward. My husband grew up in Delaware, and we intentionally chose Delaware, OH as our hometown, where we will raise our daughter and son.
With a B.A. in Communication and master’s studies in Community Development, I am uniquely qualified to represent your interests on City Council.
Why I’m Running
Delaware is such an amazing place to live, rich in history, and natural resources, and our people are incredible! I care about my community and was raised in community service. We have so much potential, so why not build on it?
My mother always said if you want something, especially if you want something to change, then you need to put in the work. I want to see smart, sustainable development in Delaware; preserving our quiet communities and best featuring our natural resources with an expanded parks system. We need comprehensive long-term planning; updating our infrastructure, and investing in next-generation energy solutions. We need diverse programming in arts, education, safety, sports, recreation, and conservation for our citizens, especially our youth. Our small businesses deserve our support and expanded professional development opportunities. We need to focus on affordable and mid-range housing. Robust Economic Development is the best way forward to ensure Delaware thrives.
Delaware is amazing, and we can be incredible. I would love to play a small part in that journey. Ward 1 deserves an elected representative who honors the letter and spirit of the law and places our resident’s best interests at the center of every decision. Your vote will allow me to serve our community. Serving as our representative on City Council isn’t a political stepping stone; it is a small way I can give back to my community as I believe public service is a privilege and obligation.
